Question 1 |
Question 1: What is the chief end of man?
A | The Chief End of Man is to Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself |
B | The Chief End of Man is to go to Bonclarken Camps EVERY Summer! |
C | The Chief End of Man is to Obey the Commandments and Keep the Sabbath |
D | The Chief End of Man is to Glorify God and Enjoy Him forever Hint: We bring the right opinion about God to others when we live according to His laws and pursue close daily fellowship through Bible reading, prayer and good works. |
E | The Chief End of Man is to love God and do as He commands |
Question 1 Explanation:
I will explain this doctrine at a later time.
Question 2 |
Question 2: What rule has God given to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy Him?
A | We glorify God by never missing church, attending all ARP Camps and Conferences and by being active in our church youth group. Hint: Commendable, but not comprehensive enough to qualify as a life purpose for all human beings living throughout all time. |
B | We glorify God by obeying the commandments and loving our neighbor as ourselves. Hint: Sounds nice, but like most nice religious cliches, it falls short of the right answer. |
C | The Word of God, which is contained in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us how we may glorify and enjoy Him. Hint: Correct! The Bible is a measure for our whole life which guides us to obey and love Him in all things. |
D | The Word of God contains the will of God which we feel and know by following our hearts. Hint: This is terrible counsel that the world tries to make us believe. We cannot follow our hearts. We follow the Bible. |
E | \(\displaystyle{We glorify God by obeying our parents and listening to the Holy Spirit guide us by the Bible. Hint: This is a good answer, but it isn't the best answer and therefore not the right answer. |
Question 2 Explanation:
The Bible is the only place we can go to gaze into the glory of God as revealed in Jesus and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to be transformed into the same likeness.
We also find full encouragement and freedom to live within His laws with out guilt or apprehension. We enjoy this world and all God's blessings to the fullest potential, within His will, and therefore to His glory.
Question 3 |
Question 3: What do the Scriptures principally teach?
A | The Scriptures principally teach what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man. Hint: Excellent!!! |
B | The Scriptures tell us how to obey God and live pleasing to Him. Hint: Not a bad answer, but not the right one either =) Keep trying! |
C | The Scriptures principally teach how we should love God and love our neighbor. Hint: Sounds nice, but it isn't the right answer. |
D | The Scriptures contain the teachings about God and what God requires of us. Hint: A good answer, but not the right one. Also, the Bible more than contains good teaching, it is the written word of God! |
E | The Scriptures tell us to go to church and love people. Hint: Not really a thoughtful response. |
Question 3 Explanation:
The Creation cannot tell us what to believe about God. The Creation cannot tell us how to live to God's glory. Only the Bible is SPECIAL Revelation. Everything else, even following our heart, is not helpful.
Question 4 |
Question 4: What is God?
A | God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable, in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. Hint: Awesome answer! |
B | God is a person without limits. He has all power and glory. He is holy, just and true. He always acts fairly. Hint: God is fair? How so? |
C | God is everything we see and feel. He is in all things and by Him all things exist. Hint: This sounds like Pantheism. |
D | God is fair to everyone who tries their best. He would never judge someone who follows their heart. He is a Father to all. Hint: Not really. |
E | God is a Spirit, without the limits of time or space. He is immense, and has all wisdom and power. He is holy, just, good and true. Hint: Great Answer! Just not the right one =) |
